  • Michelle Bridges-Pahl

    VP Multi-Housing Sales

    With Century: Since 1997

    Hometown: Houston, TX

    Supplier of the Year:

Houston and Southeast Texas Apartment Associations

Outstanding Service Award: Southeast Texas Apartment Association

A native Houstonian, Michelle attended St. Agnes and Texas A&M University prior to joining the Century team. Her first job, however, was quite different than her role as VP of Multi-Housing Sales; she washed the neighborhood families’ dogs!

In her spare time, Michelle enjoys volunteering for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

If stranded on a deserted island, Michelle’s top three items she would like to have are good books, good wine, and good friends.

  • Ken Schreiber

    VP Operations/IT

    With Century: Since 1992

    Hometown: Archer City, TX

Ken got his start in the HVAC industry by taking his first job helping his dad who was a contractor. Before joining the Century family, he attended the University of Houston.

In his spare time, Ken volunteers as a Scoutmaster, spending much of his time camping, canoeing, hiking, rock climbing and other outdoor activities.

Like many of the other executives, Ken believes his job is most relatable to a thermostat in a HVAC system because he is “responsible for ensuring the comfort of others.”

  • Steve Fair

    VP Purchasing

    With Century: Since 1990

    Hometown: Magnolia, TX

Former Board Member of Director Blue Hawk Coop

Former member of the Nordyne Distributor Advisory Council

Current member Blue Hawk Vision Quest Committee.

A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Steve got his start in the HVAC industry with Century as a Counter Sales Associate.

When asked what part of an HVAC system he would be, Steve chose refrigerant because it flows around, changing form and the environment.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys playing golf. Not the typical survivalist, Steve chose three pinnacle items to ensure his safety if he is ever deserted on an island: a motor boat, a map, enough gas to get to civilization.

  • Jess Mattox

    VP Sales

    With Century: Since 2000

    Hometown: Lubbock, Texas

    Organizations: HARDI Southwest Regional Director

Jess started out in HVAC/R wholesale industry with his very first job, working in the warehouse and as a floor sweeper.  He recalls, “I guess 1969 was a good summer. I went from an allowance of $10 per week for chores to almost $10 per day! I was getting rich!”

Although he does not have any hidden talents he would be willing to admit, Jess did tell us that if his job were a part of an HVAC system, he would be a circuit board. He claims, “No one would still know what I really did. And, I could still be just as mysterious and confusing to almost everyone.”

When asked what three items he would bring if he were stranded on a deserted island, Jess rebuffed: “a good sturdy knife, a satellite phone, and a fully stocked cruise ship - a really big one!"

  • Dennis Bearden

    Founder & CEO

  • Rick Luke

    With Century: Since 1985

    Hometown: Pinckneyville, Illinois

Awards: Ruud Platinum Performance Distributor 2009 & 2011, Performance Plus Distributor 2000, Nordyne Distributor of the Year 2005

Rick’s career with Century started just after its founding as a member of the Outside Sales team.  But long before his career began with Century, Rick delivered papers as a young boy to earn money.

When asked which part of an HVAC system he would be, Rick chose the thermostat or systems control as a large part of his job is to keep all components running smoothly.

In his spare time, Rick enjoys golfing.
